Giving Honor

When was the last time you were excited and happy because your children disrespected you? Your wife cheated on you? A thief came over your home and ransacked all you worked so hard for? Your employees plotted against you? Your boss demoted you?
I have not met a person yet that shows me happiness when is not appreciated; even worst when is disrespected in any of these ways!  Disrespect it’s really a lack of appreciation, value, esteem or honor, and really who likes to be treated like that?! Not me; do you?! No, not really, right?!

Who doesn’t like to be like to be thanked, and or appreciated? Especially after giving “freely” to others; not meaning to be given something back, but recognition that says, Thank You!  We want our kids, and loved ones to appreciate how much we love and care for them so when we do what we do for them that appreciation is shown by their respect, and when they do, they honor to us.  In our job when someone is extra considerate with us we tend to appreciate those over others, and if a vote of confidence would be needed we would considerate to give them ours. As a dog owner I’ve experience how a “simple” dog, which doesn’t read or talk or go to school and still without all that, has no problem honoring its master.  Just by us caring for him, his loyalty is for us; and to me, that’s amazing!

Unfortunately, sometimes us, not dogs but trained humans we are taught to read, talk, and walk, we go to school, and learn a trade, and unlike dogs have so much trouble honoring that person who gave us, all that we are or have.  The truth is that indeed sometimes we have no problem honoring other people, places or things around us, but when we are asked, are you Christian? Meaning, are you giving honor to the One who created you, by living for HIM?  We have a problem with that, and yet some so foolishly dare to answer, “NO, I’m Catholic!”.... oh brother! What an empty answer!

All because is “easier” to appreciate that what you can physically see more than to our Heavenly Father who you can’t see with mere eyes.  To be able to see the Lord we need to develop a relationship with Him, because the way we see Him, is not physical but spiritual.  “For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.”[1]The Son (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth….; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”[2] And Jesus Himself said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”[3]

When you recognize HIM as the Giver of Life as He is, you are opening the doors of your heart for Him to reveal Himself to you in a deeper way that will allow you to see Him as He is.  He, who created us all, has given us free will for us to choose if we want to or not recognize Him. “I (God) have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life...[4]  Deuteronomy 28 speaks of the blessings you will experience IF you choose HIM; read it for yourself!

For now, I pray in the name of Jesus, that you give yourself an opportunity for a mighty revelation of who GOD is, today. I pray you choose to confess your sins to HIM only, and believe that He sent JESUS to die in the cross for the forgiveness of those sins; as well as accept Him in your life as the only Savior & Master of it. And I pray HE develop a steadfast spirit with you that follow Him wholeheartedly all the days of your life, and I pray for HIS glory in JESUS name, AMEN!!!
