Holy Living Principles – Proverbs 5

To live holy lives does not mean that you are instantly perfected to the point of making no mistakes. Are you shocked?!  Living a holy life means that as we learn God’s principles we ought to regard them enough that if we aren’t directing our life in a way the principle says to the same God, that lives inside of our heart and who gave these to Solomon to write, compels us to change to the way HE’s guiding us to. In addition to other books of The Bible, the book of Proverbs is a great resource for these principles; you might want to check it out!

Having intimacy in a relationship is no taboo in The Bible for The Lord took the care of teaching us about them; in cases very explicit, so buckle up for this is just a small example of one of those. As for the one I will be presenting I’ve decided to number the principles within this portion of chapter 5 to help us digest it on an easier way.
“Drink water from your own well— share your love only with your wife. 16 Why spill the water of your springs in the streets, having sex with just anyone? 17 You should reserve it for yourselves. Never share it with strangers.  18 Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you. Rejoice in the wife of your youth. 19 She is a loving deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts satisfy you always. May you always be captivated by her love.  20 Why be captivated, my son, by an immoral woman, or fondle the breasts of a promiscuous woman?  For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes. 22 An evil man is held captive by his own sins; they are ropes that catch and hold him. 23 He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his great foolishness.”

At home we teach our kids in the table to keep their eyes in their plate, not to look to the neighbor’s; in schools stick to your area, and these are Bible era teachings.  Did you realize that? We start here with:
1.       Keep your eyes in your own cup

2.       Make love only to your wife

3.       Do not have intercourse with anyone else

4.       Marriage intimacy is been reserved for the couple

5.       Do not have sex outside of your marriage

6.       Your wife will bless more than anyone else

7.       Be exceedingly happy with the woman given you when young

8.       Love and grace are her possessions[1]

9.       No matter if her breast aren’t as alive and “upbeat” as when you met them, be content

10.   Let your attraction and attention for your wife be like she’s “the last coke in the desert”[2]

11.   Let you eyes not to be distracted by a woman with a low cleavage or strapless top who tempts you to lust after her

12.   The Lord who is Omnipresent is watching, ALL THE TIME; and HE sees the true colors, hers and yours

13.   You will not be accountable for her or anyone else’s sin but you own

14.   Lack of self-control can get you in deep trouble and take you to the grave, and ultimately to hell, its foolishness; do not play with it, stay rooted and planted in THE LORD!

Self discipline is synonymous of a strengthen mind, a self-controlled mind, and God’s Word says that HE “HAS NOT given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.[3] Meaning that in and with HIM it is possible for us to control our character.  So if you know that left is not the good way, just stick to your right!
The previous fourteen verses on this chapter explains you why is it that we ought to stay in the right track, among those that you may maintain discretion, and may preserve knowledge.  It also will prevent you for wandering aimlessly, which is a helpful thing. We’re encouraged to avoid people who might encourage you to do wrong, because it can lead us to dishonor others and lose our dignity and not to mention, our money too.
My friend, I pray you ask The Lord to reveal you if there are people around you who are enticing you to live unholy.  In case there might be some, I pray you realize they need Jesus, so you pray for them and at the same time, you give yourself some room between you and them, otherwise it could lead you to fall into temptation and lose your faith and new commitment with The Lord. And I pray this for the glory of God in JESUS name, AMEN!!!
