Serving wholeheartedly – Deuteronomy 6

Through Moses God is showing some basics to our foundation:

1.   What’s all about? There’s a list of commands, decrees, and regulations
2.   What’s up with the list? It ought to be obeyed
3.   Where? In the land you are about to enter and occupy,
4.   Who does it applies to? You and your children and grandchildren
5.   What to do, and for how long? Must fear the lord your god as long as you live.
6.   What if you do?
a)   You will enjoy a long life
b)   All will go well with you,
c)   You will have many children
d)   In the land flowing with milk and honey, just as the lord, the god of your ancestors, promised you.
7.   Who do I owe myself to? The lord is our god, the lord alone.
8.   What do I must do to pay what I owe?
a)   You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
b)   You must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.
c)   Repeat them again and again to your children.
d)   Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
e)   Tie them to your hands
f)    Wear them on your forehead as reminders.
g)   Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
9.   What If I do? “The Lord your God will soon bring you into the land he swore to give you when He made a vow to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
10.     What does that promise will include?
a)   It is a land
b)   With large, prosperous cities that you did not build.
c)   The houses will be richly stocked with goods you did not produce.
d)   You will draw water from cisterns you did not dig, and
e)   You will eat from vineyards and olive trees you did not plant.
11.     How can I keep the blessing?
a)   Be careful not to forget the lord, who rescued you…
b)   You must fear the lord your god
c)   And serve him.
d)   When you take an oath, you must use only his name.
e)   you must not worship any of the gods of neighboring nations,
12.     Why not worship other gods?
a)   For the lord your God, who lives among you, is a jealous God.
b)   His anger will flare up against you,
c)   He will wipe you from the face of the earth.
d)   You must not test the lord your God as you did when you complained at Massah.
e)   But must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God
f)    Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight,
13.     Why do I need to do right?
a)   So all will go well with you.
b)   Then you will enter and occupy the good land
c)   You will drive out all the enemies living in the land,
d)   In the future your children will ask you, the meaning of these laws… you must tell them:
1.   We were pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt, but the lord brought us out  with His strong hand.
2.    The lord did miraculous signs and wonders before our eyes
3.   Dealing terrifying blows against Egypt and pharaoh and all his people.
4.   He brought us out of Egypt so he could give us this land He had sworn to give our ancestors.
5.    The lord our God commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear Him so He can continue to bless us and preserve our lives, as He has done to this day.
6.   For WE WILL BE COUNTED AS RIGHTEOUS WHEN WE OBEY ALL the commands THE LORD our GOD has given us.

And after all these, I just pray that you realize what The Lord’s will for your life is; I pray you get to ask Him, how can your life aligns at this moment with His plan? I pray your eyes get opened to see what HE will show you that need to stay in your life and those things that need to go. And I pray He grants you a willing spirit to follow what HE wants you to do, for His will to be done in your life. And I pray for His glory in Jesus name, AMEN!!!
