A marriage is a commitment of two people who are making a bow
to be faithful to each other, facing life pleasures and difficulties together;
complimenting each other in whatever life might brings them as partners, in all
aspects. When one is down the other one
will lift up the down one up, and if one does not understand about something,
the one who understands will teach the other. It’s a give and take principle,
where both have to be one hundred percent givers and takers. If you say that isn’t the way it is in your
case, you both have to work it! If one of the parts does not want to work at
it, you still want to call upon God, for without GOD WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE but
with GOD, everything is possible!
There are times, were instead of working things out, one of
the parts decides to go outside the marriage to obtain what the marriage is
lacking, and that’s an even greater issue, its sin! If you even had the remote idea to go outside
your marriage to look for whatever your spouse is lacking, you better think
twice! In fact think it NO MORE; for
when you think about it, the first time is just a thought, on the second time
the sin is already on its way to become a reality, and it can send you in a down
spiral that you do not want to be in. The technological advances of the social
media today, had increased the number of people that decides to try to reach
out to that first love in life, and this opens a door for TROUBLE!!! Sometimes wrong decisions early in our lives,
took us to where we are today; but going back to try to reconnect with those
people with ideas of perhaps a more close future relationship, can break your
life, their lives, and hurt all around both families, and all while you’re
married, can lead to infidelity, NOT GOOD! God will NOT bless your infidelity. And really, you do not want to open the door
for jealousy rages, and we see this happens every day, we hear of it in the news,
on the tabloids, and on social networks all over the world. Remember what sin
is, knowing to do the right thing, and NOT doing it; breaking the faithfulness
commitment is not good, so don’t!
Although we do not live in Bible times anymore, I will share
with you the way infidelity and jealousy was handle back then, check this out!
Suppose a
man’s wife goes astray, and she is
unfaithful to her husband and has sex with another man, but neither her husband nor anyone else knows about it…. If her husband becomes jealous and is suspicious of his wife and needs
to know:
1.
The husband must bring his wife to the priest
2.
Bring an offering of two quarts of
barley flour
3.
The priest will then present her to stand trial before the lord
4.
He must take some holy water in a clay jar and pour into it dust
he has taken from the tabernacle floor
5.
The priest presented the woman before the lord
6.
Unbind her hair
7.
Place in her hands the offering
8.
The priest will stand before her, holding the jar of bitter water that
brings a curse to those who are guilty
9.
The priest will then put the woman under oath so she may you be immune
from the effects of this bitter water that brings on the curse if she’s
innocent.
10.
If she’s guilty, for the people to know that the lord’s curse is upon her to make her infertile,
and cause her womb to shrivel and her abdomen to swell
11.
And the woman will be required to say, ‘yes, let it be so
12.
The priest will write these curses on a piece of leather and wash them
off into the bitter water
13.
He will make the woman drink the bitter water that brings on the curse.
14.
When the water enters her body, it will cause bitter suffering if she is
guilty.
15.
The priest will take the jealousy offering from the woman’s hand, lift it
up before the lord, and carry
it to the altar.
16.
He will take a handful of the flour as a token portion and burn it on the
altar, and he will require the woman to drink the water.
17.
If she has defiled herself by being unfaithful to her husband, the water
that brings on the curse will cause bitter suffering. Her abdomen will swell
and her womb will shrink, and her name will become a curse among her
people.
18.
But if she has not defiled herself and is pure, then she will be unharmed
and will still be able to have children.
Would you undergo all this just to prove your innocence? Praise God things are not handle this way
anymore, although to tell you the truth, I’m sure if things would still be
handle that way, maybe today we wouldn’t have so many broken homes… hum!?
I pray in the name of Jesus, right now, for the Lord to keep
you faithful to your spouse. Seeking God’s face all the time for your spouse,
and your marriage, as one of the first things, for this is the first
institution He created for us. I pray
for those of you who are hurting right now due to unfaithful partners, for you
to follow the lead of the Spirit of God not to try to face things on your own,
but with HIM, remembering that is NOT by might, is not by strength but by MY
spirit, says the Lord[1],
for without God is impossible! I pray the Lord to show you a faithful prayer
partner of your own sex, where you can come together for prayer support,
encouragement, and refreshment in the Scriptures. I pray for the children to be
encouraged to pray for their parents, and for God’s ministering angels in their
lives to keep them focus in the Lord, every day! And I pray in JESUS name and
for HIS glory, AMEN!!!
