Thinking about the precision and
the detail that GOD commanded things to be done for the Tabernacle; and all of these
materials had a superior long lasting life. This was to honor someone that was
above anyone else, the construction of the place HE was to be honored was
unheard of because of its massive elaborated and costly detail. If you think about it, this is a
representation of the fundamental nature of our God, because although the materials
were long lasting life, our God is not only like that but He goes beyond that,
by being EVERLASTING. The price of this place of worship was extraordinary
expensive, but GOD’s goes beyond that be being PRICELESS! What an amazing blue print!?
Here some of the materials used:
ACACIA WOOD - All the wood items starting with the Ark of the
Covenant were from acacia wood, the tables, the incense altar with its horns
and holding poles, the framework of the Tabernacle itself, the curtains
poles. Then the majority of these items
were over coated with either pure gold or bronze.
I discovered a few things about ACACIA WOOD… “The genus Acacia includes
more than one hundred species of trees and shrubs which are found mainly in the
arid and semiarid regions of Africa where they are ecologically the most
important plants. Here the acacia trees are often the only plants on an
otherwise bleak and monotonous terrain. Several species of acacia grow in the
Sinai but not all would be suitable for use in construction. …. Because of the
slow growth of the tree, the wood is hard and dense. The heartwood is dark
red-brown and attractive when polished. This wood is resistant to decay because
the tree deposits in the heartwood many waste substances which are
preservatives and render the wood unpalatable to insects making the wood dense
and difficult to be penetrated by water and other decay agents.”[1]
GOLD – The rings used to hold the poles for the table, and the containers
used in the table like bowls, pans, jars and pitcher were all gold. The lamp
stand, with snuffers, and trays, were also in gold. A total of 2,193 pounds of GOLD[2]
were offered to be used for the Tabernacle.
SILVER - The hundred bases for the frames of the Sanctuary walls
and for the posts holding the inner curtain was silver. Also the hooks and
rings for the posts of the courtyard were overlaid with silver, and to overlay
the tops of the posts. A total of 7,545 pounds of SILVER[3]
were offered to be used for the Tabernacle.
BRONZE - From bronze were all the altar utensil, ash buckets,
shovels, basins, meat forks, and fire pans. The grating on the side of the
altar was also bronze. The washbasin and its stand, the bases for the curtain
poles were bronze. The tent pegs were
bronze too. A total of 5,310 pounds of BRONZE[4]
were offered to be used for the Tabernacle.
FINE WOVEN LINEN - Hundreds of yards of this linen were used to make
the curtains for the Tabernacle; the priest’s the sacred garments, the robe, chest
piece, and the ephod. The robe had an
opening for Aaron’s head and this opening was reinforced with a woven collar,
so it would not tear, both from this linen. Aaron’s son also wore tunics, sashes,
turbans, and undergarments all from woven linen. [5]
PRECIOUS GEMSTONES – were used for the chest piece, and the ephod
the priest wore. Some of these were red carnelian, a pale-green peridot, emerald,
turquoise, a blue lapis lazuli, and a white moonstone, orange jacinth, an
agate, and a purple amethyst, a blue-green beryl, an onyx, and green jasper.[6]
So the next time that you think
about the GOD you’re living for, remember HIS worth; ABOVE and BEYOND what you
could ever think or imagine. Think about the LOVE HE HAD FOR US that HE chose
to send HIS SON to die in the cross for our sins; even though HE DIDN’T HAVE TO
but HE left HIS GLORY WORLD to come down for us! Then OFFER TO HIM a SINCERE WORSHIP OFFERING,
FOR HE IS WORTHY!
I pray you start living for GOD now
more than ever before, because HE IS REALLY WORTHY of all the glory, all the honor
and all the praise. So shout with me, Hallelujah, Thank YOU JESUS, Lord YOU are
worthy!!!
I’m praying you worship with the song… “When I think about the Lord”.
