Learning from the Egyptians – Exodus 7-11

These set of chapters give us explicit details about the ten plagues that God sent over Pharaoh and the land of Egypt. One of the most intricate details is how The Lord made distinction between HIS people and that of Pharaoh’s, for the plagues sent didn’t affected the Israelites but ONLY the Egyptians.

Due to the length of this study, I’ve decided to divided in two sections, in this first half we can see how The Lord’s plans for us are NOT like those for the world who does not accept Him; how HE’s called us to separate for HIM, there’s to be a distinction between us and the world.

Although these plagues had the main purpose of create consciousness in the leader of this land, to free the Israelites and to let them go worship The Lord, there’s another great group of things for all of us, even today, to learn from this account.

·         The Lord who created us all, knows the condition of our heart,
·         an issue of stubbornness was ruling Pharaoh’s heart
·         stubbornness causes rebellion
·         a normal person can be of a marvelous use when submitted to God
·         a simple staff can be a tool of a great use
·         when someone says “God has sent me to tell you….” it means, watch out, and beware
·         if you choose to refuse to hear God’s speak, brace yourself up for it will be a bumpy ride
·         turn the water into wine or like here all the water resources into blood, only God!
·         When you speak in the name of The Lord even people who do not care will watch your speech
·         Life will not survive in a blood bath
·         No matter how deep you dig when The Lord decrees you will not find a thing, you will not!
·         Blood is considered foul water as IS NOT to drink
·         Magicians “did” something similar to what God did, but not to the same extent
·         Back then seven days without water was a terrible thing, today, one or two days causes chaos
·         A swarm of frogs stinks, and if they’re dead stink even more
·         Sometimes people forgets how The Lord relieve them from terrible situations
·         When you do not appreciate  a gift you can fall in the pot hole two, three or more times
·         Transforming the dust in gnats was something magicians couldn’t do at all
·         Gnats all over…. That’s terrible!
·         A thick swarm of flies caused chaos in the whole land of Egypt
·         It would be extraordinary to see the “bubble” that protected the Israelite’s town while surrounded by a swarm of flies
·         If The Lord determines you need to be “here”, here is where He wants you to, not there
·         When The Lord warns, we better pay attention, consequences will not be pretty!
·         God can cause your source of income to be extinct, in order to get your attention
·         When we see our “opponent” gets blessed while we’re being “cursed”, that isn’t pretty!
·         When The Lord sets the time, no one can change it
·         You can investigate all you want, GOD WILL NOT LIE!
·         The dirt in ashes can cause festering boils
·         Do we need plagues in life to recognize that GOD is in charge and there was NO ONE like Him?
·         God’s power can wipe off anyone from the face of the earth
·         The plagues God sent, gave The Lord fame all over the earth
·         A hailstorm could be devastating especially if you’re outside
·         Some people learn faster than others
·         When you pay no attention to The Lord’s advice, you and yours will hurt
·         Another extraordinary event would be to see the “bubble” that protected the Israelite’s town while surrounded by a hailstorm that’s devastating the town just before your eyes
·         Confessing the sin and stay out of it are two different things

I pray you take the time to reflect in these points and get to know more about the character and essence of our heavenly Father.  It’s a great thing to be part of the winning team, God’s.  If you want to become part of His Team, let me know!
