Your Personal Gifts – Exodus 35

“Then Moses said to the whole community of Israel, “This is what the Lord has commanded: Take a sacred offering for the Lord. Let those with generous hearts present the following gifts to the Lord: gold, silver, and bronze; blue, purple, and scarlet thread; fine linen and goat hair for cloth;tanned ram skins and fine goatskin leather; acacia wood; olive oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and the fragrant incense;onyx stones, and other gemstones to be set in the ephod and the priest’s chestpiece.10 “Come, all of you who are gifted craftsmen. Construct everything that the Lord has commanded: 11 the Tabernacle and its sacred tent, its covering, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts, and bases; 12 the Ark and its carrying poles; the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement; the inner curtain to shield the Ark; 13 the table, its carrying poles, and all its utensils; the Bread of the Presence; 14 for light, the lampstand, its accessories, the lamp cups, and the olive oil for lighting; 15 the incense altar and its carrying poles; the anointing oil and fragrant incense; the curtain for the entrance of the Tabernacle; 16 the altar of burnt offering; the bronze grating of the altar and its carrying poles and utensils; the washbasin with its stand; 17 the curtains for the walls of the courtyard; the posts and their bases; the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard; 18 the tent pegs of the Tabernacle and courtyard and their ropes; 19 the beautifully stitched garments for the priests to wear while ministering in the Holy Place—the sacred garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to wear as they minister as priests.”

There’s an important message of exhortation that still lives today.  This message is for all the people in church, as we see here to include all those that come and fellowship on regular bases.  Although today I will discuss about individual’s skills, this principle can also be applied in the fellowship of churches as a whole, for every church represented in a fellowship of churches has “corporate skills” that others might not, and vice versa.

The Call - Moses made the call; today Moses’ are the church’s Pastors.

The Message - Moses gave of presenting gifts of gold, silver, bronze, colored thread, goat hair, ram skins….. to the Lord, yesterday; is today pastoral request although is the same call to present gifts in today’s church the gifts are a bit different.  Today’s are seen as a call to help in the different ministries or “departments” of the church, in the nursery, with the boys to Royal Rangers and girls to Impact Girls, perhaps to cook a meal for a bereaved family.

It’s indispensable that we understand that GOD who created us, HE was the one who gifted us with skills and talents, all, to build up, to construct things for HIS glory; and is been commanded by HIM! So, who are we to question that?

Some of us could say, praise the Lord, He didn’t gifted me to work in the nursery; but really is a gift and if you think like that, it’s because you DO NOT have that gift, and you ARE NOT made to be there, so please don’t! Because you REALLY do not want someone who does not have the gift of loving nurture nursery children to care for your own little one, do you? Then beware of your own gifts! And put them to work for God; out of a willing heart, use those gifts and skill for His glory!

Examine yourself about those things that you enjoy to do and work more at. As a woman, I know some of us like to work with yarns and knitting (not me on this first one), other baking, playing some kind of musical instrument, singing.  You might be gifted in quilting or sawing, perhaps you love to work with hair or nails; maybe talking and encouraging people, whatever you are good at, that’s a gift that GOD had placed inside of you, because HE made you.  Use that gift for His glory! Each and every one of us does NOT have the same gifts, and that’s the beauty of a body, many members but all with a different functions.

Do not try to be like sister ---------, or like brother --------, she’s unique, or he's unique, and so are you! As you examine your own self, and you will discover the many skills and talents GOD had place inside of you, which with the possibilities to build up the Kingdom of GOD in your own unique way, are ENDLESS!!!  Go and flight like an eagle! And if you can’t fly maybe run like a cheetah! But when you do your best on whatever is it that you do, GOD’s name will be glorified!

I’m including a website[1] that has a questionnaire that could help you discover your gifts that are more commonly used in the church; at least this can give you an idea where to start. I HAVE to remind you that because every person is unique, you might have some not mentioned here, in which case, ask The Lord to lead you with those. And be excited and happy for it shows what a great Masterpiece God had created in you.

I pray you make sometime today, to do examine about your gifts and talents, and I like the people of Israel, you hearts get stirred and your spirit moved so you can come and bring your sacred offerings to the LORD.  Know that if you have questions, PM my inbox, anytime.

Be blessed in JESUS name, AMEN!
