A Time with JESUS, priceless! – Job 1

14 and a messenger came to Job and said,
“The oxen (500 yoke) were plowing and the donkeys (500) feeding beside them, 15 when the Sabeans raided them and took them away—indeed they have killed the servants …
16 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep (7,000) and the servants….
17 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three bands, raided the camels (3,000) and took them away, yes, and killed the servants…
18 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “Your sons (seven) and daughters (three) were eating… 19 and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead…
20 Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there.  The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Who in life do not go thru things? In life we all WILL face challenges, but we must understand that, as children of the most high GOD trying to live for HIM our challenges can be even greater as our character gets tested.  Do not be afraid, for God is with us and He will never leave us or forsake us, besides, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.[1]

Now really, think when was the last time that you lost your oxen, donkeys, sheep, camels, and their attendants, and even your children, all in the same day???

This is a pretty scary scenario even to be pictured; and indeed a GREAT time of testing for Job. Do you know anyone who could have been able to handle this the way this man of God, did? I don’t!
I’ve been in situations where the only thing I want to do is run to my Father’s feet, and really I’ve stayed there, receiving the comfort that only He can give in HIS own special way.

See, when you go to the Father, you can cry because of the hurts you’re going thru, you can tell HIM how terrible you feel, how much so and so took from you, how you cannot understand what’s going on.  He will hear you, until you’ve said it all, and when you can say no more and just cry it all out. And then HIS cup of strength gets poured in from the top of your head running down to cover your body, bringing you the much needed comfort.  And when you get up, even though the problems may have not been resolved just yet, the peace and the hope that comes as a result of spending that time with JESUS, its priceless!

And most likely that was the time Job had, a time with GOD, as he tore his robe, shave his head, fell to the ground, and worshiped for only with God’s suspension he could of reply the way he did; “Naked I came, and naked I shall leave”.  That’s almost unbelievable, but God in HIS mercy, HE allowed this report to be created, as a testimony of HIS GRACE, and MERCY towards us. Also for us to recognize that if for Job, that was a man who knew GOD and lived for HIM, if it was hard for him, how much harder could be for those that do not know GOD, and cannot have the endurance given by the GOD he served?

My friend, that’s what the Lord wants me to leave you with today, when HARD TIMES come, leave everything, and GO TO HIM!  You do not have to tear up your robe, or shave your head, like Job exactly did, but just come to JESUS feet, the way you are!  Redemption has been paid by HIM; you just have to accept the fact that HE did it because of HIS love for you and me, for HE LOVES us!   As you do, a life of victory in JESUS is possible!!!

Call upon HIS name, admit your sins to HIM, declare that you believe JESUS paid in the cross for those sins, and confess HIM as your Savior and Master of your life.  Then start having DAILY conversations with HIM, and join a church where The Bible is studied.

If you want me to pray with you or need some help finding a church, or more information about living for God, do not hesitate and let me know.

GOD bless you, I’m praying for you; and remember VICTORY IS ONLY IN JESUS!
